Command Sergeant Major Scarlett I. Stabel was born, raised and educated in Germany. She joined the Army in 1985 and completed Basic Training at Fort Jackson and Advanced Individual Training as a Traffic Management Coordinator at Fort Eustis. She received her Associate Degree in General Studies from Central Texas College in 1992 and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Management Studies from the University of Maryland City Colleges in 2000.
Her assignments include Movements Specialist with the 49th Movement Control Center, Fort Hood; Movements NCO, Movement Control Team NCOIC and Operations NCO, 25th Transportation Movement Control Agency, Korea; Primary Leadership Development Course Instructor, 18th Airborne Corps NCO Academy, Fort Bragg; Master Driver and Drivers Testing Station NCOIC, Vilseck, Germany; Transportation NCOIC, Directorate of Logistics, 100th Area Support Group and 7th Army Training Command and First Sergeant, Charlie Rock, 7th Army NCO Academy, Grafenwoehr, Germany; Operations NCO, Secretary General Staff, 21st Theater Support Command and First Sergeant, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Transportation Movement Control Agency, Kaiserslautern, Germany. From June 2004 to June 2006 she served as the Command Sergeant Major of the 765th Transportation 'Straight Arrow' Battalion, Fort Eustis. On 29 June 2006, she was assigned as the Command Sergeant Major of the 10th Transportation 'Waterborne' Battalion. From 3 June 2007 to 26 August 2008, she deployed as part of the Battalion Staff of Logistics Task Force 10, which consisted of three Heavy Equipment Transport Companies, one Convoy Security Company and three Army watercraft.
Command Sergeant Major Stabel completed the Army's Airborne, Battle Staff, Command Sergeants Major, First Sergeants and all Noncommissioned Officer Education System courses.
Her awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service (2 OLC), Army Commendation (2 OLC) Army Achievement (4 OLC) and Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary medals; German Marksmanship, Parachutist and Drivers badges; and various other service ribbons and medals.
