Crisis management exercise
Soldiers, Department of the Army civilian employees, and Japanese master labor contract employees all leapt into action May 21 during a post-wide crisis management exercise on Camp Zama.
Hundreds of participants and first responders swarmed the post as they reacted to a simulated chemical attack on building 1050, a high rise housing tower.
The training exercise is an annual requirement for Department of Defense installations, according to Lt. Col. John Riley, U.S. Army Pacific chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive division chief.
